Why Are Lake View Homes So Popular?

In Southern California, water is a big deal.  The beaches are ,of course, the most desirable water views  – and the most expensive.  And the fewest clear days!  Really – it is overcast much of the time along the coast.   Still, people from all over the world own homes along the California coastline just because of the Pacific Ocean views.  Lakes are a great attraction – the clear, blue water reflecting the sunny Southern California skies.   So the Mission Viejo home WITH a view of the Lake will always be more desirable than the same model WITHOUT a Lake view. 

Does it Matter What Part of the House Has the View?

No surprise here – a view of the lake from the main living and dinning areas is the best of all.  And of course to see the lake from the kitchen would be killer!  From the pool and outdoor BBQ and bar counter – always a plus.  This you can find this in most San Marino homes, and some Tres Vistas homes.  Andalusia and Madrid Del Lago are up on the hillside above San Marino – not right on the Lake.  And as you go up the hill, the views move upstairs.  If the view of the lake is from the master bath tub, huge dollars will be deducted in comparison with a similar model that has views that you can actually share with friends.  While eating, drinking, and wearing clothes (or at least a bathing suit.)

Bottom line here – more rooms and areas with lake views equals a bigger price tag.  Surprised?
